Retired, and, when not babysitting the grand kids, I'm out doing something with wood.

I inherited my father's gear a long time back. In 1952, after having served in WWII, he was deferred from Korea because of my sister being born. Having three kids and it was a no-go. He celebrated by splurging on a Craftsman table saw, band saw, drill press and jointer/planer - all for $273.75 (tax, title, out the door) - I still have the receipt. The saw is still functional - I use it rarely nowadays mainly for crosscuts. The drill press is still in service and runs like a champ. The band saw is retired due to parts not being available and the jointer/planer is a big paper weight. I never could figure it out

I love doing mosaics and 'impossible' designs. Figuring the math and geometry involved keeps the mind active and the spinning blade keeps the mind alert.
