Happened across a project in my Favorites from years ago that I had meant to build long ago!
What I thought would be a simple quick little project taught me a few lessons in the importance of accuracy!
Made from some Hard Maple and Jatoba scraps, finished with a few rubs of Shellac.

Now that is a dandy tool, very practical and useful in the shop.

Nice André. That awl looks very familiar. Was it a gift from someone?

Warming up, only in the – 20s now! Even the shop feels cool.

Really helps when splitting boards on the bandsaw!

Yes Paul, that Awl followed me home one visit, never leaves the workbench! Come to think of it haven’t heard from Klaus for a long time, only made one trip south last year and was pulling the trailer.

I don’t know what that is, but it looks pretty cool and you did a great job on it! Now that I think bof it, my friend Rob from http://lumberjocks.com/Robsshop gifted me with something very similar a few years back. For finding board’s center, right? Very handy, these are. use mine a lot.

Nice little shop helper Andre. I’ll have to make one.

Yeah miss Klaus’s contributions too. Ah he’s probably a famous YouTuber now and doesn’t have time for us LJs lol

Kiefer’s design allows for past/to the end marking? made mine a bit on the large size, may have to do a smaller scale one in the future? Marking pins a bit big also.
